LEO Technologies

Nov 2022 – Present Irvine, CA

Senior Full Stack Engineer

Aug 2021 – Sep 2022 San Francisco, CA (remote)

I worked closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to quickly iterate and take ownership of new features on the product roadmap.

  • Wrote technical design documents and developed the front-end UI and back-end APIs for new features on the primary customer dashboard used by thousands of environments. Some features include: revamping “No Code Events”, study folders with bulk actions, dashboards landing page, events and attributes management, and duplicating studies.
  • Migrated existing JavaScript code and React components to TypeScript, resulting in superior type safety, static code analysis, and maintainability.
  • Refactored legacy Node.js code by utilizing Sequelize models, Joi data validation, custom middleware, and optimizing SQL queries for lazy loading.
  • Maintained integrity of continuous delivery pipeline by writing Jest integration tests using React Testing Library, and Node.js unit tests using Mocha, Chai, and Sinon.
  • Triaged Sentry issues, escalated error rates, and outages as part of weekly on-call rotation to achieve optimal uptime.

  • Overhauled epiAnalyst from a monolithic application to microservices adopting SOLID principles. Led development on the new React SPA with Redux state management using Material Design and D3 charts.

  • Built Compliance Pack feature to serve untapped market need around Risk Adjustment Data Validation (RADV) audits.

  • Wrote terraform code for managing infrastructure and deploying Docker containers to ECS Fargate with load balancer and auto-scaling enabled.

  • Facilitated engineering internship program, which led to four interns joining remotely since Covid-19. Directly managed and mentored two interns.

  • Developed an internal client and user service with Auth0 integration to handle user authentication and authorization.

  • Migrated TravisCI builds to CircleCI workflows allowing for single-click deployments to different environments.

NextGen Healthcare

Jan 2014 – Aug 2019 Irvine, CA

Full stack development on Health Data Hub, an enterprise-level cloud solution that provides healthcare organizations the ability to aggregate, normalize, and exchange patient data.

  • Created responsive UI, Angular components, and data visualizations for multiple products designed to drive population health management and provide clinical content management.

  • Headed company’s initiative on the integration of mobile health data into clinical data repository, giving care providers valuable insight into the real-time health of at-risk or chronically-ill patients.

  • Deployed a Continuous Integration pipeline using EC2 instances and Jenkins Blue Ocean which ran builds against a comprehensive automation test suite.

  • Designed and implemented Automated Workflows, a core feature that provides a configurable rules-based service to notify concerned parties on ingestion of clinical data (HL7/C-CDA).

  • Led development on a Configuration Management System that provisions and manages client environments in AWS with option of blue-green deployments.
